The town of Chesterfield is placed amid the rolling hills of The Peak District National Park, and as such the town centre is just a short journey away from some of the most stunning scenery in the country. A popular haven for walkers, the National Park offers beautiful views at every turn, whether it be from the summit of one of its limestone hills or along one of the riverside horse- and bike-trails that run along many of its leafy valleys.

Chesterfield offers a vast array of interesting shops and open-air retail areas, one spot worth a look is 'The Pavements' shopping centre, which is located near to the market and houses many high street names.

The shopping street, Vicar Lane, has been redeveloped in recent years to make it entirely pedestrianised - it now has a friendly, bustling atmosphere and plays host to major chains such as BHS and Argos.

A wide variety of world cuisine is available in Chesterfield's excellent selection of restaurants and eateries, from Indian to Chinese to Thai, but also traditional English food in one of the town's many pubs that are conveniently located within close proximity of the town centre.

Chesterfield's nightlife is vibrant and varied as a result of this huge choice of pubs, alongside many other bars and clubs on offer. The town also has a number of popular theatres and music venues for lovers of drama, dance and comedy to take in.
