"Rude and makes up rules that make no sense!"

My husband and I with our little dog Radley booked into the Ibis for the weekend, the time was around 6.30pm and it was a warm evening, so we decided to walk over to this place to sit outside and enjoy some food from the carvery as we had just driven from Suffolk and were very hungry.

I went into this place, and saw the selection of meats ready for me to choose from and went to the Till to pay. A staff member came to serve me and I said that I wanted to pay for two carvery meals and we would be sitting outside with our dog in the garden area. I was told that, due to lack of staff, I was unable to eat outside. I was amazed and asked what on earth is the problem? She said they had turned other people away, and can't make exceptions!!!!! A large burly male also appeared and said that we could not take our own plates, and sit outside..we did not need any staff to assist us, apart from take our money!!! He was so rude.

My husband and I could not believe it. How can they afford to turn away hungry diners, who want to sit outside and eat a meal. There was plenty of seating outside, and I saw no notices to advise anyone of this rule. I wish I could find out who owns this place, just to let them know how stupid the fat man is who seems to give out stupid rules which have no bearing on any problems with staff being overworked, as we take our plates and sit at a table to eat, and we could even return them afterwards. Has anyone had this said to them?, and if so, how can we ensure this place is shown up for being bullish. Don't bother to eat here. If they can turn anyone away with this as an excuse when they have plenty of food, they must be making a packet! I hope they fail!
